Scamy.io Wins MagicMoon and Receives ROTSA Recognition for Fighting Online Scams

In the span of just two days, Scamy.io received two important recognitions from the startup ecosystem, reinforcing the growing relevance of technologies designed to protect people from online scams.

First came the announcement that Scamy.io won the MagicMoon acceleration program, followed just one day later by recognition from ROTSA (Romanian Tech Startups Association).

For a cybersecurity startup focused on scam prevention, these milestones confirm that the problem we are addressing — protecting people from digital fraud — is becoming increasingly urgent.

Scamy.io Wins the MagicMoon Startup Program

Scamy.io was selected as the winner of MagicMoon, an acceleration program created by InnovX in partnership with Raiffeisen Bank Romania, dedicated to supporting promising early-stage technology startups.

The selection process was highly competitive:

  • 670 startups analyzed
  • 13 finalists invited to pitch
  • evaluation by a panel of 12 investors and industry experts

The jury included representatives from organizations such as Raiffeisen Bank Romania, ROCA X, Catalyst Romania, DLA Piper, and InnovX.

Scamy.io stood out due to:

  • a clear focus on online scam detection
  • a practical product designed for everyday internet users
  • strong potential for international scaling
  • a rapidly evolving cybersecurity platform

Winning MagicMoon provides access to mentorship, international exposure, and opportunities to connect with investors and partners, helping accelerate the growth of the Scamy platform.

The recognition was also covered by the Romanian tech publication Start-Up.ro, highlighting Scamy.io as a startup building tools to help users avoid fraud online.

ROTSA Recognition for Innovation in Cybersecurity

Just one day after the MagicMoon announcement, Scamy.io received another important validation.

The project was also recognized by ROTSA (Romanian Tech Startups Association), an organization supporting the development of the Romanian startup ecosystem and promoting innovative technology companies.

ROTSA highlights startups that demonstrate:

  • strong innovation potential
  • clear technological value
  • impact in solving real-world problems
  • the ability to scale internationally

For Scamy.io, this recognition further confirms that scam prevention and digital safety tools are becoming critical technologies in today’s internet environment.

The Growing Problem of Online Scams

Online fraud continues to grow globally. Every day, millions of users encounter:

  • phishing websites
  • fake online stores
  • scam emails
  • malicious links
  • impersonation attacks

Many victims are not cybersecurity experts and often struggle to identify fraudulent websites or messages.

This is the problem Scamy.io was built to solve.

What Scamy.io Does

Scamy.io is a cybersecurity platform designed to help people detect and avoid online scams before they become victims.

Today the platform offers 360-degree protection against online fraud, through multiple tools including:

  • website scanning to detect malicious or suspicious domains
  • AI-based scam analysis
  • email scanning via the Scamy Chrome extension
  • mobile protection through the Scamy app
  • link reputation checks

The goal is simple: make scam detection fast, simple, and accessible to anyone using the internet.

What Comes Next for Scamy.io

Recognition from programs like MagicMoon and organizations such as ROTSA helps validate the mission behind Scamy.io, but the focus remains on continuing to build.

The next phase of development includes:

  • expanding the Scamy ecosystem across web, browser extensions, and mobile apps
  • improving AI-based scam detection
  • growing the user base internationally

Online scams are evolving quickly.

Our mission is to ensure that users evolve faster.
